DESCRIPTION

The Port Authority of Ferrol due to the increase and diversification of its administrative and operational activities required to remodel and expand existing facilities in order to improve, update and provide them with the benefits they have today these facilities.

A privileged environment defined by the Presidium of Ferrol, the proximity of the city's Neighborhood Barrio Vello, Curuxeiras dock, Arsenal, Port, etc., this intervention makes this intervention be projected beyond the intrinsic program content and also becomes an operation of urban impact for the city of Ferrol.

The proposal takes aim parallel cohesion and dialogue with the current environment and / or future. The architecture is built from its first formulation as a global container volume, (existing buildings, building connections, building a future expansion "El Yate"), that sectoral responses to the requested work areas, but at the same time, set to reference urban spaces, Curuxeiras spring, Baluarte, Arsenal, a natural continuity.

The resulting architectural figure, slightly redefines the volumes of both the Port Authority building, such as the building of the former Naval Command. A third volume connector longitudinal mode, adds new values to program implementation and presents itself as a new front-image from the top of the city.
