DESCRIPTION

The starting point was to create for the courts of Barcelona and L'Hospitalet, as also for subsidiary bodies, a versatile volumetric structure, flexible and adaptable to possible future legislative functional changes.

The City of Justice has an identity of its own that the difference tectonics of the skyline of the environment and creates a new element within the urban structural diversity. The project has sought to create a creative work environment, clear, serene and versatile for staff without forgetting the visitors. The rationality and systematicity create a logical entity, despite the size of the buildings and their differentiated functionality, is easy to navigate both the outside and the inside.

On the ground floor, with high ceiling, and following the linear courtrooms has created an interior street that crosses the building and is crossing the halls of access to courtrooms, as glazed boxes bind the different towers.

The relationship with the city urban born groups-square towers and spaces between them are formed. Both side of Barcelona and L'Hospitalet side created few places that increase their own identity. With this move, the two facades of the two jurisdictions look to their city.

The most significant area of the City of Justice is the new urban space created between the towers: the new Square (Forum). Urban space creates impressions both monumental and human space. The new plaza is an urban space for pedestrians, a real city square with its environment recreated with ponds and plants. These joints are repeated within the areas of access, interior streets and higher floors. It creates an impression of the architectural where urban public spaces continue in the interior of the building.
